What is an EIN (Tax ID) Number?
A Federal Tax ID Number or Employer Identification Number is also referred to as an EIN, TIN and FEIN. It is similar to a Social Security Number (SSN) in that it is used by the Internal Revenue Service for tax identification purposes. An EIN is issued with a unique 9-digit number in the following sample format: XX-XXXXXXX. EIN Numbers do not expire and will only be issued to a Sole Proprietor once. Any of the following entity types must be issued an EIN to conduct business: LLC, Corporation, Partnership, S-Corporation, Non Profit Organization, etc. When an EIN has been assigned by the IRS to a business entity, it becomes the permanent Federal Tax ID Number for that entity.

Who can apply for an EIN (Tax ID) Number?
Anyone can apply for a Tax ID that has a valid Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN). If you do not have a SSN or ITIN you will need to obtain one before you apply for a Tax ID Number.
Is there a difference between an EIN and Tax ID Number?
There is no difference between an EIN and a Tax ID Number. However, there is another number referred to as a State Tax ID Number which should not be confused with a Federal Tax ID Number or Employer Identification Number (EIN).

Does an EIN (Tax ID) expire?
A Tax ID doesn’t have an expiration date. It’s good for the life of the entity or person in the case of a Sole Proprietor. Please note that Sole Proprietors can only be issued one Tax ID Number from the IRS.
Do you honor refund requests?
We do honor refund requests in the event you request the cancellation of your order before our specialists submit your EIN (Tax ID) Application for processing. If you request the cancellation after our specialists have submitted your EIN (Tax ID) Application for processing your refund request will be denied. To send us a service cancellation or refund request give us a call or send us an email. If your refund request is approved, the funds taken from your credit card for our service fee will be returned in full within 3-5 business days or less. If your EIN (Tax ID) Application results with a Reference 101 error, we will email and/or fax you additional details on the next steps you will need to take in order for us to proceed with processing your application. In the event we are unable to obtain your EIN (Tax ID) due to a Reference 101 error, we will issue you a refund for the total payment less a $25 processing fee. Refunds resulting from our inability to obtain your EIN (Tax ID) due to a Reference 101 error will be issued on the following business day and we will send you an email confirming the refund has been issued.
